The First WanderlosI love nature shows. I'm also an illustrator of modest talents. I draw comics and monsters. One of my monster drawings had a small herd of critters in it that I (first thing I thought of) called Wanderlos. Now, the Wanderlo is inspired by zebras, wildebeests, and my all time favorite African meal on legs, the antelope. This is my understanding of how things work in Africa for an antelope...
An Antelope's Map of AfricaThere are only two spots on the entire continent that have a suitable place to graze. Every year all the antelopes must travel back and forth between these two spots. Along this trail is every deadly predator that has spent the last million years evolving into the perfect antelope killing machine. A teeth forward platform that can travail at incredible speeds or move with ghostly stealth, and sometimes both. This trail becomes a feeding frenzy in which the weak, sick, injured and adorably cute babies get torn apart first followed by everyone else. Nature hates you.
My view of nature. But amazingly, along the way, there is a full herd culture. The antelope mate, establish social order, raise their young and play amongst themselves, as if the danger has no effect on their freedom or wildness. They evolve right along with predators. Anything that doesn't work is eaten and what works best, lives.
So why would I name my game company after what seems like nature's loser? Why not call it Tiger Games or Croc Entertainment? Because those thing have seemed to evolve into perfection. The're done. Everything at Wanderlo Games is born on the trail and looking only to improve the herd. If you, the player, like it, it will live and multiply. If you, the player, are not interested, it's eaten. Don't be sad, I have tons of game ideas. I don't want to be tied down to perfection. I want my games to live free and wild. I want only the best games to lead the herd. That's why it's Wanderlo Games.
